As a wedding photographer in Dumfries and Galloway, I’ve learned to appreciate the quiet, genuine moments that make a wedding day unforgettable.
I got into photography when I was young—my friends and I spent countless hours filming and taking photos of each other riding our bikes. That curiosity never really left. I eventually went on to study photography at college, earned my HND, and with the support of my family, I launched Hemera Visuals over 10 years ago and that’s what drives my work today, capturing the moments that feel real and stay with you.
In 2019, Shauni and I were married in a beautiful little red tin church, surrounded by our families—and our dog, Hamish, who wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Experiencing our own wedding day firsthand showed me just how much these moments matter, and it’s a big part of why I care so deeply about documenting them for others.
